MathMates Summer 2025 Program Draws a Crowd
The waveprogram recently held its annual MathMates enrichment course on June 2-5, 2025 at Robert Down Elementary School in the BASRP room. Over 40 kids from Forest Grove, Robert Down, and Pacific Grove came together for a week of Math fun. This program, in its third year, is designed for those students going into 4th and 5th grades in the fall of 2025.
This year's MathMates was led by PGHS junior Conor O'Brien who is an accomplished musician, vocalist, athlete, and editor of the school newspaper.
O'Brien summarized his experience teaching the students who attended this summer:
"This year's MathMates summer program had a great turnout, and great results. Each kid was awesome, and I hope they all had fun and learned something new they can apply in their coming years at school.
YWe covered topics that will be taught in this upcoming year in their math curriculum to get them ahead of the curve, along with some other fun subjects that help them get excited about the depth of math as a subject. We hope to see everyone in the program through the year and next summer for the 4th graders."

Thanks to Kai Bishop, Carly Rodolf, Yasser Alkhalaf, Thomas Coen who assisted Conor during the week!
