Anti-Bullying Workshop Held for Campers and Parents!

At the end of the first week of the 2018 "thewaveprogram," summer camp, an Anti-Bullying Workshop titled "Communication and Community: Understanding How We Fit In"  was held the last session of the day. Both campers and their parents were invited to attend to listen and learn from Ron Triplett, Marriage and Family Therapist who has worked with local families for twenty years in the Pacific Grove area and Andrea Page, nutritionist, health coach, and sleep counselor who specializes in pediatrics.

July 12: Ron Triplett - Anti-Bullying Workshop: "Communication and Community: Understanding How We Fit In"

Ron TriplettRon TriplettRon Triplett is a Marriage and Family Therapist who has worked with local families for twenty years. He focuses on helping people communicate more effectively, and especially enjoys working with children and young adults. Ron grew up in the Monterey Bay—a local surfer and former director of the Surfrider Foundation—he mentors youth encouraging them to develop a stronger sense of self and purpose in their lives and in their community. He holds a degree in Clinical Psychology and teaches psychology and communication at Monterey Peninsula College.

Andrea PageAndrea Page

Andrea Page is a nutritionist, health coach, and sleep counselor who specializes in pediatrics. Her innovative and holistic programs help her patients overcome health challenges to achieve optimal physical and mental health. She holds a MSc in Exercise Science and Integrative Wellness with a specialization in the science of Behavior Change. She also holds multiple certifications in nutrition, sports nutrition and coaching. She coaches Cross Country and Track & Field at Monterey Peninsula College and enjoys working with middle school athletes as a volunteer coach because she believes youth sports are crucial for the development of character and sportsmanship that build strong athletes and successful adults.



Cooking in Culinary Arts

 All kids, as they get older, have to be able to fend for themselves and be able to cook. New to "thewaveprogram" in 2018 was a culinary arts class that the wave campers are having a blast in. So far in two days they have made a smoothie and a kimbap.
